Met Dee Dee one day in Royal Oak when he was in his Michigan residency phase after Jerry Nolan died. Seemed nice, but opiated. I'd met him briefly during the Too Tough tour. A friend of a friend was in his Chinese Dragons band in MI. They played at the Rob Tyner benefit on 2-2-92 (yes, a recording exists) at State Theater in Detroit. No, he wasn't that good that night. However, it WAS the night the MC5 reunited in memorial to Tyner, and before Smith died, and I was there.
